By selecting Export Course, you will be asked what type of export you want to create.
Export Course
Export Course creates a file that can be used to import this course's content into a new course. This can also be used to copy a course from one Kannu portal to another. NOTE: This feature only exports the content in a course, and does not include any user interactions with the course.
To export a course, go to Course Info > Export Course in the left navigation bar. Choose Export Course from the options. From there, select which parts of the course you'd like included in your export (Course Information, Sessions, Coursework, Resources).
Click Export Course and Kannu will generate an export file for the course. You will receive a notification when it is complete.
Download Course
Download Course creates a downloadable snapshot of a course that contains all content, records, and user activity like submissions, forum posts, etc. Users can download any course that they're the instructor of.
To download a course, go to Course Info > Export Course in the left navigation bar. Choose Download Course from the options. From there, select which parts of the course you'd like included in your download.
Course Content: This is the content you've created for your course, like Sessions, Coursework etc.
Student Content: This is the content created by your students, like forum posts and coursework submissions.
Media: These are any media files you've uploaded to your course. It includes images, audio, video, and any other files that were uploaded as-is. Separating these can be helpful if you've uploaded a lot of media to your course, as it will reduce the download size.
Click Download. The system will start generating your ZIP download in the background, and you'll receive an email with a link to the download once it's complete.
Navigating your course download
Your download is set up in a number of folders. The folders in the ZIP contain everything you've downloaded, and are labeled appropriately. If you're looking for your:
Grades, Roster, and Survey Results: Your main gradesheet, student roster, and any survey results you have are contained in the folder called "csv". These are all spreadsheets you can open up in your preferred spreadsheet software.
Syllabus: Your Syllabus is on the top level, in "info.html".
To help you navigate these, you'll find a file in the top level called "index.html" that runs in any browser (you won't need an internet connection, though). This file lets you navigate through your course in a similar way to if it was the online version. NOTE: If you rename or remove files in this download, you may not be able to use this feature effectively. If you need to use it somewhere else, we recommend copying the files and leaving the original in place.
