The Attendance page is where you will be able to mark and keep track of a student’s attendance record. You can access the Attendance page from the Navigation Bar. Under Gradebook, click Attendance.
On this page is the Student Attendance chart. The chart has three sections:
-
Student: This is a list of all of the students in your class. It can be sorted forward- or reverse-alphabetically by clicking the ▴ icon next to the section title.
-
Class Meeting: In this section are the dates of classes for which you’ve inputted attendance. Each row will have squares corresponding to a student and a class meeting. You can click any square to cycle through different attendance types (see legend above the chart).
-
Total: This section tallies the number of classes for which each student has been present, tardy, absent without excuse, and absent with excuse. These will be weighed together to give a student a Total Grade for attendance. If you’d like to override the automatic grade, click the Lock icon next to the grade, and input the grade you’d like for that student. If you want to reset to the automatic grade, click the Lock icon a second time. NOTE: The automatic grade is an average of percentage values across the total number of classes in the Student Attendance chart. Present, Tardy, and Excused types are weighted at 100%, while the Absent type is weighted at 0%.
